First Place Lightning Rod Insulators Integral parts of a lightning arrestor systems, were used to insulate the metal rod that ran across the roof and down the side of a building to the grounding point. Over 50 insulators on rotating shelves displayed a wide variety of colors, shapes and the depicted the development and history of these specialized insulators.
