Insulator Show Insulator Show
When: April 26 (Saturday)
Where: Perth, Ontario
Ottawa Valley Insulator Collectors Show and Sale Location: Lanark Civitan Hall, 2144 Pine Grove Road, Lanark, ON K0G 1K0. Hours: 10 am - 3 PM. Details: There is a change of venue for this year's show. The show is still based in Perth, Ontario, but instead of the Lions Hall, we are in the Lanark Civitan Hall, 15 minutes north. The Tay Inn will have a block of rooms set aside for showgoers who come up on Friday night. Both the owners and those who have previously rented rooms at the Tay Inn have all said good things. All are asked to respect the Canadian-Rules where dealer trading begins at 9 am and the hall doors open at 10 am. Things usually start to wrap up about 2 pm as long-distance collectors pack up for the drive home. There will be sandwiches, coffee, water, and pie available at the hall. As with previous shows, there will be a free table, where the usual bring-some-take-some happens. It is a great way to thin out extra insulators and help newer collectors. Also happening in Perth is the annual Festival of the Maples. Lanark County is the Maple Syrup Capital of Ontario, so the event celebrates the maple season wrapping up. Check out the website at: festivalofthemaples.com for details Traveling from Perth to Lanark, you will pass through Balderson Ontario, the home of Balderson Cheese. The cheese store is right on HWY 511 and will be open for visitors. Their website is: www.baldersonvillagecheese.com for info.
