(Credit: News Channel Nebraska) A lineman working on one of the two 2400V circuit riser structures next to the municipal plant at Broken Bow, NE. It seems the city built shoofly circuits from the substation to the overhead circuits to get everyone back on, as power was fully restored 33 hours after an engine blew up and sent a valve cover into the 2400V bus inside the plant. Wouldn't be surprised if this eventually prompts the city to finish rebuilding the distribution system (I can see in street view there are parts of town served by a newer substation several blocks east), but the city does hope to resume generating power someday. |
