For these next few sale listings of 2025, I'm going to donate 100% of the profits to Bill and Jill Meier for use towards ICON. To be clear, these donations will be in addition to the amount I usually give. Like so many others, I have ICON to thank for my introduction to the hobby. For all they do, Bill & Jill shouldn't have to bear the cost of hosting the web site as well as the time required to keep it running. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Up for grabs is an example of a scarce Canadian CD 145 variant. This one is the notoriously heavy Canadian 'hive variant that is seriously overbuilt for its size. The glass is extremely thick on all sides. This specific embossing variant has the bold G.N.W.TEL.CO. embossing on the front that is often seen, but rather than just the "T.P." portion of a blotout being found behind the "N.W.", this one actually has all of "G.T.P.TEL.CO." blotted out, with all of "G.N.W.TEL.CO." re-engraved on top. The embossing is unusually large and crude - the "E" especially standing out for its extremely bold and tall, skinny shape. Portions of the full blotout are visible on either side of the skirt, including the original "G" to the right of the present "G", and portions of the "CO." on the far side of the skirt. Most collectors probably don't pay much attention to specific mold variants like this, but if you do then this is a tough one to track down in the Canadian CD 145s. All of the examples of this embossing I've seen have been this same greenish aqua shade, almost slightly teal-tinted. I dug this example personally, and it has some surface mineral etching and some scattered pings that are consistent with being found that way. Please view the full sized image to see the details. It has one small flake on the top of the "T" in "TEL", and a small vertical flake 5 mm wide on the rear inner skirt edge. I'm asking $50 USD, INCLUDING SHIPPING within Canada or the lower 48 US states for this one. 100% of this amount will go to Bill Meier and the ICON website to support its software updates, and you will be paying Bill directly to avoid unnecessary fees. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items. |
