Up for grabs is an oddball that turns up from time to time in Ontario and Quebec. This little U-1181 porcelain pony is marked Rosenthal with a small image of three flowers above it on one side of the skirt. This was a German manufacturer, but given the 1" North American threaded pinhole this piece has, and the fact that they're found here in Canada, it seems likely that these were produced for the Canadian market. The marking is green under-glaze ink, and this piece also has a large '3' in the top of the pinhole marked using the same method (though the pinhole is unglazed). This is essentially a copy of the CD 106 style, the Hemingray version of which is exceptionally common here. This Rosenthal pony, however, is NOT a common piece from my experience. In great condition with no visible chips or cracks - just some minor wire scuffs and much of its original soot. I'm asking $70 USD, INCLUDING SHIPPING within Canada or the lower 48 US states for this one. I'm always happy to trade for early Canadian glass or Canadian-made porcelain insulators. I have a long-standing want list of Canadian-made porcelain posted, [id=505519866; please click here to see it]. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items. |
