Up for grabs is a great character porcelain pony. This U-40A style seems to be an uncommon one in the first place, but some seem to have been used here in Ontario as I've found the odd one in various accumulations over the years. This example has a series of parallel lines scraped into about 2/3 of the exterior skirt, obviously while still unfired. The glaze applied over top of the lines is also that nice drippy, early 20th century one that has some orangey "mustard" highlights that glow in natural sunlight. The base on this example is filed.

This one has a 24 mm long base bruise that appears dark in colour due to soot staining, which appears to be from manufacture as the porcelain on the base has been bent downwards in that spot. It's visible in the base view provided. It has a couple small skirt flakes running up from the base edge on the opposite side, and a few very tiny fleabites/nibbles along the very sharp lower wire groove edge on the same side.

I'm now asking $55 USD, INCLUDING SHIPPING within Canada or the lower 48 US states for this one. I'm always happy to trade for early Canadian glass or Canadian-made porcelain insulators. I have a long-standing want list of Canadian-made porcelain posted, [id=505519866; please click here to see it]. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items.
