Gar Woods "Miss America X" racing boat in the early 1930's. Miss America X, as shown has 4 Packard 3M-2500 PT boat V-12 engines installed in the past few years. When the boat was built and raced, there were 4 very customized Packard model 1A-2500 aircraft prototype engines. These were built for Gar by Co. Jesse Vincent, VP of Engineering at Packard. These engines were removed from the boat when retired. When Miss America X was sold to Bill Harrah's collection in Sparks, NV, it did not have any engines. The boat is currently on loan to the Packard Proving Ground Museum in Warren, MI.
