One thing I always liked about this small-town power company is these 'in-line' substations, with everything in a relatively compact package about 10 feet or so above ground. Decades ago, nearly every town on this company's system was served by a substation like this, steel-framed substations only appearing in the larger towns or in a few towns transferred from a neighboring utility. Over the years, the company has been steadily replacing them with modern substations, and this one "got the call" within the last few years. |
