I rest my case !!

I found this in a ditch along the Lake Shore & Michigan Southern Ry Detroit mainline in the late 1960s in north Toledo, Ohio.

I suspect the Indian was interrupted in the process of making it and he dropped it in his haste to get away from the " RR constabulary".

It is an early piece with a large mold #8 on the backside dome. Under the #8 there is a Feb 22 and a year ? There is a faint WUTCO over CAUVETS PAT over BROOKFIELD on the opposite dome...I believe? Its very faint. Notice it has a lip under the wire groove. I suspect this might be Brookfields 2nd generation CD 127. The first generation is very scrace undersized knob top 127?
