On a recent trip to Iceland in May of this year I was able to salvage several "warning high voltage" signs from a pile of power poles in Seydisfjördur Iceland, unfortunately no insulators to be found, however these signs make an awesome go with!!

The signs have a lightning bolt embossed and read "Háspenns Lífshættá" which translates to "High Voltage, Life Hazard" in Icelandic.

If you look closely this particular sign is stamped with the number 45 indicating the pole location I believe.

I believe they are from about 1950-1960, when RARIK the national power utility of Iceland was expanding the electrical network to the more rural regions of the country.

Sign is approximately 10"Long by 5" high, made of aluminium and show signs of a long hard life adorning a power pole in one of the harshest environments on earth (including being hit by birdshot).

I am making one available for sale with the proceeds going to support our beloved ICON website.

Have you ever seen another?
