Here's an oddball style for the discerning signal specialist. This is an example of U-2228 - a sort of oddly shaped signal that has a sinister "Darth Vader's helmet" look to it. These periodically turn up in southern Ontario, but it's likely that they were made in Germany or at least Europe based on the glaze colour and porcelain quality. This example, like many, has a simple number stamp on it - in this case "29" on the dome top. This example is a fairly typical olive-brown colour. This style probably dates to the pre-war years in the mid to latter 1930s or so. In excellent condition with only some very minor wire ridge scuffs. I'll call this one VNM. I'm asking $25 USD plus shipping for this oddball. I'm always happy to trade for early Canadian glass or Canadian-made porcelain insulators. I have a long-standing want list of Canadian-made porcelain posted, [id=505519866; please click here to see it]. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items. |
