I aquired some really neat items over the past months and thought I'd share some pictures. These three lag screw insulators, two which I got from a great fellow collector, are pretty unique and three I can scratch off my want list. The first one that looks like a boxing glove was sold by Line Material Co. in the early 1920's and was called the "boxer" tree insulator. The second piece was also sold by Line Material Co. and had two holes for different tie off positions. The last insulator was sold by the James A. Kearney Corp. It is special because it uses a spool for the insulator part. It was issued a patent No. 2,150,995 in 1939 for the spool application and a flexable mounting lag. I found a ad from a Electric Reviiew magazine showing it. Neat stuff!
