Up for grabs is a dry process, brown glazed standard spool bearing the recessed-embossed markings "5897" and "S&S MADE IN CANADA" on top. These markings refer to Smith & Stone, a porcelain and electrical apparatus manufacturer once operating out of Georgetown, Ontario. I've seen a number of these turn up across various parts of Canada (mostly Ontario), but it doesn't seem like many have been offered on ICON previously. In case someone wants one I thought I'd offer one up. I've always thought these were kind of sharp-looking with all the recessed-embossed bold markings on top.

This example is in excellent condition, with only a small open glaze bubble on the outer top edge, and some minor wire groove scuffs.

Now asking $20 USD plus shipping for this piece. I'm always happy to trade for early Canadian glass or Canadian-made porcelain insulators. I have a long-standing want list of Canadian-made porcelain posted, [id=505519866; please click here to see it]. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items.
