Here's a very early U.S. porcelain spool with original hand forged cast iron hardware! The "wire" securing the screw to the spool also appears to be heavy gauge iron. I believe this came from Ohio.

The spool is 2" x 2" and in excellent condition. There is a small rough spot that looks like it touched something at the factory, No chips or cracks.
