An example of the ever popular and ultra-crude U-149 Pittsburg beehive style. Lots of these were used on the Michigan Central system here in SW Ontario. The whole thing is abandoned and completely removed now, but these U-149s still turn up in the area from time to time. This one was recently found at a yard sale near where that line ran. Its wire groove is decided crooked and poorly trimmed, it has a couple deep gouges in the sides of the crown, and the glaze has a bit of a "two tone" colour, with one side much darker than the other. It looks great in the bright sun.

One 6 mm flake on the lower wire ridge on one side, and a small scuff just below it on the skirt. Overall it's in solid, decent shape.

I'm asking $20 USD plus shipping for this one. I'm always happy to trade for early Canadian glass or Canadian-made porcelain insulators. I have a long-standing want list of Canadian-made porcelain posted, [id=505519866; please click here to see it]. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items.
