Here's one I haven't come across many times over the years - not even one time, actually, until recently. This large "egg" strain with open ends is one of several that came from an Essex County, Ontario telecommunications tower that was apparently built some time in the 1970s and scrapped about 15 years ago. It's chocolate brown, measures 4 1/4" in length by 3 3/4" square in width. The wire grooves are open at both ends. It's one seriously chunky strain! Markings consist only of a light brown underglaze ink stamp on one side that reads "A0A35 NGK 02."

It's in good condition overall, but does have a 1 cm wide flake on one outer corner of the firing rest end, and a much smaller 0.4 cm flake on the inner wire groove edge of the opposite end. Otherwise it just has some scuffs and scratches, some of which can be seen in the photos.

I'm asking $25 USD plus actual shipping cost for this one. I'm always happy to trade for early Canadian glass or Canadian-made porcelain insulators. I have a long-standing want list of Canadian-made porcelain posted, [id=505519866; please click here to see it]. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items.
