Some very interesting insulators have been found in Randolph, MA, especially CD 134 Diamond-P's! The latter have been located along their fire alarm lines in the majority of wild colors that are known in the hobby, including a few character pieces that are opaque, bubble-filled and with unusual swirls. These finds were during the 1970s. On the third crossarm down on the poles in the photo are the fire alarm telegraph circuits leading from around town to a nearby fire house. There were six to eight individual wires along the stretch visible and it went on for at least a mile down into the distance. This was quite a treat to see! Most insulators on Randolph's system were aqua and old! Many were CREB Brookfields. A solitary CD 134 T-H.E. Co. was also located there; that was in the early 1990s. It was at the bottom of a barrel full of more common aquas in the fire department's store room (not found by me). Randolph is a community about 10 miles south of Boston. |
