I'm going to try something a little bit different this time around. For these first few sale listings of 2024, I'm going to donate 100% of the profits to Bill for use towards ICON. To be clear, these donations will be in addition to the amount I usually give. Like so many others, I have ICON to thank for my introduction to the hobby. For all they do for the hobby, Bill & Jill shouldn't have to bear the cost of hosting the web site as well as the time required to keep it running.

This unembossed CD 143 in a rich medium aqua is an example of the 1880s-era "whittle mold". Made towards the earlier end of the mold's use, this one doesn't have the heavily whittled surface that some examples do, since this effect came about due to advanced wear of the mold over time. It does, however, have some nice character in the form of a floating potstone glob in the dome top, some carbon swirls along the top edge of the pinhole, and an amber swirly at the base of the threads. This mold variant is primarily found along Canadian Pacific circuits, and occasionally on some other Canadian telegraph company lines.

This one has a 3.5 cm long low-angle base bruise along the outer base edge on one side, but it isn't especially obvious without close examination. It also has a 6 mm wide "fisheye" above the wire groove on the opposite side, as well as a few scattered fleabites on the lower crown.

I'm now asking $15 USD plus the actual cost of shipping for this piece. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items.
