Here's a Brookfield style that doesn't turn up often in general, least of all with this much character. Note the backwards '9' embossed on the front skirt below the BROOKFIELD embossing. Note that this one does NOT have the No. 48 embossing on the rear skirt, making it the [080] EIN. This late-generation "uncommon common" hoopskirt is probably among the last mould styles used by Brookfield before the company ceased production of this style (or maybe all styles, for that matter). If the embossing variation isn't appealing to you, maybe the amber swirls intensely darting throughout the entire piece are. It's hard to capture how dramatic these look when the piece is backlit, and they almost give it an overall green colour when viewed from a distance. This one is in pretty good shape but it does have an 8 mm BB ping on the right side of the dome, and a 5 mm "popped potstone" bruise below the left side of the wire groove. All in all I'd still call it good condition. I'm asking $50 USD plus shipping for this one. I know it's "just a hoopskirt", but man is it ever a nice one. I'm always happy to trade for early Canadian glass or Canadian-made porcelain insulators. I have a long-standing want list of Canadian-made porcelain posted, [id=505519866; please click here to see it]. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items. |
