Central Power crews removing the "Bowdon Junction" interconnection on the Otter Tail Power system, August 2023. (clipping from Google Maps street view).

In its earlier years, Central Power Electric Cooperative was more than happy to make agreements to use the systems of the three investor-owned utilities in North Dakota (OTP, MDU, NSP) to deliver power to its six distribution cooperative members' substations. In recent years, after a few territorial disputes between the investor-owned utilities and Central's members went in the IOUs' favor, Central began an ongoing program to relocate as much of its infrastructure off the IOU systems as feasible. Otter Tail's line is on the right, and the one on the left is Central's new line connecting to its recently rebuilt Bowdon Junction - Robinson - Tuttle line.
