Well, no it's not for sale, but you can still help out! Bob Stahr, Hemingray Historian/Collector, just reported that TODAY is the last day, and "Looks like the fruit jar hobby has had at least twice as many donors to the fund than the insulator hobby. I am already getting flack from those in that group asking why if Hemingray was so big into insulators why there are not more donors from our hobby? Help me prove them wrong. Let's get this across the finish line today!" You do not need to create an account and you pay via CC or GPay. The details are at: https://bcmuseum.networkforgood.com/projects/206102-mary-hemingray-restoration-fund Bob provided this short summary: Behringer-Crawford Museum in Covington, KY is having a fundraiser to restore an 1871 painting of Mary Hemingray (born 1847). She was Robert Hemingray's third child. The museum believes this may be the only oil painting of a member of the Hemingray family. Mary's husband Bradford Shinkle would serve as Vice President of Hemingray Glass Co. from 1901-1909 followed by their son Amos Shinkle serving as vice-president from 1909-1933. In order to restore the painting, it needs a light repair and a thorough cleaning. It would be great if the insulator collecting hobby could help raise the money for this preservation project. Donations are tax-deductible. |
