Here is a Santa Fe Ce-4 caboose, one of only three made. Originally built in June 1948 as a Ce-3 class caboose, this and two others (637 & 639) were rebuilt in 1969 without cupolas and used in southern New Mexico on the copper ore shuttles from the Chino open-pit copper mine at Santa Rita to the smelter at Hurley. Clearances at Hurley were such that a caboose with a cupola wouldn't fit through the unloader.

Santa Fe retired the cabooses in the mid-1980s. These photos were taken along West Fremont Street in Marfa, Texas in July 2020. Photo credit: HAR Information source: https://www.hebners.net/Caboose/atsf.html
