I found this wicked deep Hemingray Blue stamp-embossed CD 145 EIN [020] (Dome) H (F-Skirt) H.G.CO. SB at the bottom of a box of grimy clear, straw, and aqua Whitall Tatum and Hemingray CD 154's. Not a high value piece, but the entire crown from the wire groove up to the top of the dome has a very rough "orange peel" texture to it, as if the mold was covered in flaking rust, or more likely sloppy gobs of mold paste. The rest of the insulator (outer and inner skirts, base and pinhole/threads) are nice and smooth. Click on View Original for a more detailed look. A handful of dome pings, some shallow clamshell flakes around the base edge, and a shallow base slice do not detract from the unique look of this piece. And for added character, check out that awesome bubble seemingly on the move through the rear skirt! |
