I haven't posted anything new in this series of posts in over 3 years. One of my general hunting rules is never contact an estate liquidator about insulators in an "in-person estate sale" that you cannot attend. An "in-person estate sale" is a sale where you physically have to be in attendance at the sales location to have an opportunity to purchase items. Many times I use to inquire about purchasing insulators at such distant, on-site sales and ALWAYS got negative results. If I got lucky and got a reply back, there were one of two responses: 1) I don't have time or resources for person-to-person, direct, on-line sales; or 2) All of my estate sales items are reserved for my on-site customers. If you want something, show up for the sale.

Well, the lot I saw in the photo above was just too appealing, not to try. I contacted the liquidator and made an attractive offer that had conditions: 1) He had to sell all of them to me and ship them to my address and I would pay shipping. After several inquiries on my part and some additional negotiations during the Logan National, I was able to secure the insulators two days before the estate sale which was over 500 miles away from my location. I acquired 10 San Francisco wooden insulators: 9 cable tops and 1 round top. Nothing ventured; nothing gained.
