Just before sunset, an extra NS 233 (NS I33) heads westbound on the former Nickel Plate Road at the East End New Haven siding. This railroad was a six crossarm pole line until the late 70's when the railroad came through and did away with all the communication lines of telegraph and telephone, leaving only the signaling (code) circuits and a 440 volt power circuit up. The signaling and power circuits would too became defunct in the mid 2000's when the lines were no longer needed. |
