All of these were found in the wild last week. Included are stamped P&T units from Japan, incused P&T's from Wade Pottery in the U.K.,Taylor, Tunicliff & Co, Bullers LTD, Julius Hering & Sohn from Germany, and a smattering of other unmarked styles. The double groove stonewares are incused GPO on the dome. James and I found chocolate brown glazed Cordeaux marked P. T. 23 in the southern Irish mountains that we think might mean P&T. The Post & Telegraph Department was created in 1924 following the formation of the Irish Republic. Everything before was run by The General Post Office of the United Kingdom. A big thank you goes out to Mary Ann and James for helping me aquire these! I loved being able to visit Ireland for the first time! It was a wonderful trip! |
