Here is a look at the internal mechanism of the lamp in the previous photograph. The magnetite rod is mounted inside the large round center fume chimney wile the stationary copper plaited steel washer button electrode is held in a stationary position at the base of the lamp. The mechanism that strikes the arc and lifts the magnetite rod is visible in this photo towards the left side of the lamp body. [id=677213522] for a view of this lamp complete with it's outer shell and glass shade installed. I am aware of only one other surviving lamp of this design. It is displayed in the Georgetown Energy Museum in Georgetown, Colorado.
