This line isn't too far from here. I enjoyed scouting for insulators along it back in the 1960s; however I never found anything too exciting. Not long after this photo was taken the entire 20-mile length of this telegraph line was removed... poles, wire and all, hardly leaving a trace. I always thought the old junction box atop the pole was pretty nifty! I fondly remember it! There weren't many of them surviving into the 1960s. However, this is a nice example of one that remained..
