Below is my post on ICON OK folks, I had a few conversations with Sally Hedges, Gil's wife. I let her know how much Gil was loved in our hobby. At first, she seemed to want to be left alone. However, after speaking with her, she said, "A note or card would be nice." I guess she was/is a writer. So, if any of you want to write her a note or send a card like the wonderful ones I saw on ICON, that would be great. Her address is: Sally Hedges 1522 24th Ave. Seattle, WA 98122 Additionally, I had a nice conversation with Curtis Boster, which is hard to have with that knucklehead. LOL! He was close to Gil as well. Thank you to Curtis for providing us the opportunity to have a toast to Bluemex in Springfield. We will be taking a picture to send to Sally who was grateful for us remembering Gil. If any of you have photos of Gil, please post them in the ICON section under "A tribute to collectors who have passed". One last thing. Sally sent me a text with a cool photo. A few of Gil's friends used to go to the Seattle Mariner's games with Gil. Shortly after Gil passed away, they went to a game with a sign reading "R.I.P. GILL". Coincidentally, there was a photo on the front page of the sports section that actually shows this sign. How cool is that? I will post it in the ICON photo gallery. For some reason, Gil's passing really hurt me. Thank you all. Dario |
