Here's another one that doesn't come along every day: a nice deep purple GNW CD 145 with a standard iron tie wire. Not many survived with this original iron still attached. This one came from a SW Ontario insulator collection, but I strongly suspect it was dug by a good collecting from of mine in the Muskokas in decades past. The condition on this one is not great, an affliction most dug purple GNWs seem to share. It has a surface haze from burial, and a large fracture running all the way around the piece just above the wire groove. A second fracture runs up through the side of the dome. Additionally, it has white calcified bruises on the rear crown and front left wire groove area, and two scratches on the front skirt - likely from being hit by the probe that was used to dig it! Despite the damage it holds together, and this one is more about the tie wire than the insulator itself. I'm now asking $40 USD plus shipping for this piece as is. I'm always happy to trade for early Canadian glass or Canadian-made porcelain insulators. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items. |
