Burlington, VT, Downtown, 1911. Electric and Trolley Pole lines on Both Sides of Street.

The trolley service lines were the heavier cable(s) seen upon the lowest crossarm on the right. The same crossarm (in the foreground) appears to also have some smaller insulators on it and these may have been for privately-owned telephone lines for dispatching by the transit company. The remainder in this photo were for electric lighting service and perhaps there were some fire alarm wires as well (probably strung on the uppermost crossarms along the left). A really nice looking enclosed-arc street light illuminated this intersection.
