Note the small three-piece multipart insulators employed here. Perhaps they were of Thomas manufacture as speculated by a couple other porcelain enthusiasts who have seen some of these remaining along this very busy transit route?

Many of the original (teens and before) structures still stand along this active Amtrak and RR corridor that leads to NYC. By the late 1960s a 138kv double circuit line was built parareling this route. It is among six power supply/exchange interfaces between the New England Independent Operator (ISO-NE) and supplies/interfaces neighboring outside of New England. The forementioned transmission lines along the CT corridor (connecting with the New York Independent Operator, NYISO) have been added to many of the upper sections of the original RR catenary structures, especially at river and other long crossings. The contracted capacity with exchange flow going either way of this double-circuit 138kv route is about 225 megawatts (enough to power a fair-sized city).
