Here's a scarce two-piece feed thru glass insulator with a screw and two wing nuts embossed EDDYSTONE RADIO PHOENIX on each piece. Some letters are easier to read than others. Small chip showing in the photo on one end. The center ends (that appear to be touching each other) were factory ground and resulted in a pumpkin seed size flake on each piece that is not visible on display. There are 2 match head flakes (not shown) and minor rubbing around the outer rim (also seen in pic) on one piece and a match head flake with minor rubbing on the other. Most likely made by Phoenix Glass Works. This was used in a hole the size of the inner diameter flange where the two pieces meet, so as to keep the inner rod from touching anything, then the two hex nuts secure it in place, and the two wing nuts are where the wires on either side are fastened. (Thanks Brad for this info!) This interesting feed-thru insulator is from England and is rarely encountered or seen. Measures 3 inches (glass pieces from end to end). Bolt and wingnuts add additional length. First email that says they will buy it, gets it for the final reduced price of only $100 with FREE shipping! Thanks! |
