Here's a rare porcelain lead-in insulator found in Spain. These are very early insulators that were primarily used in the late 1880-1900 era. An example is seen in Buller-Jobson catalog dated 1898. This example has what appears to be a sideways "G" inside the base. These were used on the outside of buildings and walls to provide insulation to the wires that are leading inside. Measures 2 7/16" base width, 4 1/8" tall. The spook face is 3 3/4" wide. Has a surface hairline glaze crack that does not affect the integrity of the porcelain [id=655575975].
