I have a huge collection of Edison Base Fuses or the fuses in your house fuse box that most older homes had. Todays houses use breakers instead of these screw in type fuses. I love the different manufacturers and company historys on these and just about every electric company or service had their own fuses. This type of fuse though has bewildered me. I can find no information on them except for the picture in my G.E. catalog and that they were used on motors. These two are made of porcelain with a metal and mica cap and have renewable fuse links. They were listed as Time Limit Fuses. The first one is marked G.E. Co. Pat May 7, 1918 Cat. No. 245562 4.3A 550V, The second is marked G.E. Co. U.S.A. Cat. No. 165227 17A 220V. These do not screw into a regular Edison base socket. Must have a special socket on a motor or something. I've only seen one other company that had these and that was Trumbull Electric Mfg. Co. Would love to see a picture of these in use and to find a Trumbull one plus more info on how they were used.
