The other week I was able to purchse these Neon electrode and connector insulators on eBay. They came from the historic Silco theatre in New Mexico. The two electrode insulators are marked O.A.R. #4 and are the patent by Otto A. Rieman 2,072,042. Besides the neat looking heart shaped tops they also have extra holes to adjust the spring just like in the patent. The porcelain tube bushing connectors are also patented by Otto A. Rieman 2,237,362 April 8,1941. I have posted a picture the owner of the Sico theatre sent me showing the sign they came off of when they were doing restorations. You can also see pictures of it lit up on the internet search. It's always nice to know some of the history on the pieces we collect and where they came from. |
