So, I don't know where to start with Bill Albers. I truly loved him as a human being. Period.

Bill was everything a good human being should be. If the world consisted of nothing but people like Bill Albers, we would be living in paradise or heaven right now. Pick any positive word in the dictionary and you could label Bill with it. Kind, considerate, friendly, hospitable, good, generous, caring, trustworthy, and of course a TRUE GENTLEMAN all befit Bill Albers.

Bill, Woody, and I spent countless days together. Sometimes we talked insulators, sometimes talking life, and sometime talking complete nonsense. Bill was a saint and worshiped Marilyn during her life and after her passing. Bill spent both tons of money and tons of time helping Woody through the last 10 or so years of his life. He was so generous, so kind, so caring it is hard to put it in words. The only real argument we ever had was who paid the bill at dinner. We both fought to pay, and the loser got treated.

Bill and I spent a lot of time at his home and ranch just hanging out. Bill made sure after Woody passed that all of Woody's records made it to me safely. He sent several dozen boxes weighing about 50 pounds each over a year or so after Woody passed. He had his family help him pack. I paid for the shipping, which he offered to pay for, but he just wanted to make sure the records had a good home. Bill did hundreds of generous acts of kindness like this for countless people and asked nothing in return. I can't say enough about him and his kindness.

One thing we talked about a lot was a poster that he had hanging on the wall at his ranch. I was in awe when I read it. And I read it again, and again, and again. It was the letter that Chief Seattle (Seathl) sent to President Pierce in 1854 when the USA wanted to buy the land of his tribe. That letter spoke to who Bill was, to fairness, to wisdom, and to kindness.

BILL ALBERS WAS KIND!

I offer his family my most sincere condolences. I know he is heading straight to heaven. I will miss him dearly. God bless you Bill and enjoy the rest of your life with your best friend Marilyn.

Love, Dario
