According to town records the radial wave street light shown here was installed at this intersection around 1920. It upgraded the former one utilizing a bright 4,000 lumen street series lightbulb. Atop this pole are some electric service distribution circuits that served the neighborhood in this historic Massachusetts community. In addition, lower on the pole seen here is a fire alarm crossarm. For decades the town painted them white and stenciled "FIRE ALARM" in black paint on them (this lettering not very visible here, unfortunately). Photo taken at the intersection of Hersey and South Streets (looking south) in the forementioned community. Little has changed in this image since then other than the fact the brick-built stores are gone and were replaced by more modern ones on the same foundation footprint.
