(L to R): R.P.F. embossed small glass egg strain specimen, CD 1130, "R.P.F." stands for "Robert P. Frist", founder and first general manager of California Glass Insulator Company.. This will be a new EIN in the upcoming revision of the price guide. This specimen was light yellow when dug but was intentionally subject to sunlight for two years to observe any glass color change. The color is now a light smokey purple. Middle is another R.P. F. embossed small glass egg strain insulator in yellow, CD 1130. Noteworthy is the fact this R.P.F. was made in flint glass colors-- the same flint glass used in the production of the California large glass egg strains in yellow/purple glass colors. NOTE: The pour spout port was ground flat. Was this CD 1130 intended for sale/distribution? Right is an R.P.F. embossed large glass egg strain insulator, CD 1131, in a vibrant unlisted yellow green glass color for California strains. This will be another new EIN in the upcoming price guide. Note the ungrounded pour spout port. |
