CD 151 H.G. CO. // PETTICOAT telegraph insulator.

Every once in awhile you have to brag on a piece of telegraph hiistory. These "old soldier" design pieces have been around for a long time. Finally replaced by the CD 152's and then later the CD 154's. Anyway, they have been around for quite a long time. Finding a really nice one can be a challenge. With so many drips points out there to chip. And the sharp wire rim edges to flake, a search can sometimes take a little while.

This piece is nice. The outside and inside surfaces are in super condition. On the outside surfaces I only find a tiny "clam shell" chip on the underside of the upper wire rim on the right hand side. The drip points are just about all there. 1/4 of an inside edge on one is flaked. The tip of another is a little bit rough. But that's all !!!! Pretty dang good for a 100+ year old piece of utility glass. Blue-aqua glass looks fresh from the factory. A piece well worth concidering for addition to any collection.
