I found this in my grandfather's basement last year, where it had likely been since the early 70s. The embossing is very weak, and only some letters can be made out on the front. I believe it to be a 45 Cliff Street version, and it contains the standard patent dates on the back which are only slightly more legible than the front. Embossing: W. Brook (unreadable) / F (only letter that can be made out) // PATD Nov. 13th 1883 / Feb 12th (this is almost indistinguishable) 1884. Dome: 09 (9 is backwards). Despite the embossing's shortcomings, the glass itself sparkles so beautifully that it is one of my favorites. You never know what is hiding sometimes. |
