This Post compares a CD 132 "Patent Applied For" insulator purchased in 1973 at a flea market in West Des Moines, Iowa with a CD 133.1 "Patent Applied For" from Georgia. Based on conversation with the seller, the CD 132 was found in 1970 on the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railroad which ran though Polk Co., Iowa on the Southern side of West Des Moines. The CD 133.1 was found on the Central of Georgia Railroad in Georgia. Specific details are as follows: CD-132 Pat App For (Front Skirt) Large Script 2 (Back Skirt) - Beautiful Teal Blue - Crude With Bubbles and Micro-bubbles - Measurements: 77 mm Wide x 110 mm Height. CD 133.1 Pat App For. (Front Skirt) Large Script 3 (Back Skirt) - Crude Brookes Blue With Bubbles - Measures 73mm Wide x 103 mm Height [id=603665927] . I will also post a picture of the back of these two insulators [id=611707762]. Note: About 30 years ago or so, I saw an insulator that someone had painted weak embossing to make the embossing more readable. I painted the embossing on both of these insulators with model aircraft paint and have since removed it. I learned my lesson and won't do that again - I don't recommend doing it. |
