The following picture post shows a Southern Railway diesel locomotive train. This picture was taken in the late summer in North Western Georgia. I would note that most of the telegraph lines had four tiers of cross-arms. You will also note the "red clay" that Georgia is known for. For now, I have completed my tour of the Central of Georgia, Southern Georgia and other railroad lines and there insulators. Note, I still have around a dozen or so power style insulator somewhere in a box. I did not find any of the power insulators myself - they were all purchased locally in Georgia. One of note was a CD 245 T-H 9200 power insulator. I'll post a few pictures of these items when I find and dig them out of my storage boxes. For now, I plan to move on and cover insulators I found in Iowa and Pennsylvania. |
