The next series of posts will cover CD 102 insulators found in the Southern Bell farm dump located North West of Cockran, Georgia. Post No. 19 is as follows: CD-102 Brookfield (Front) New York (Back) - 3 Piece Mold - Top Mold Mark 0 - Medium SCA CD-102 W. Brookfield (Front) New York (Back) - 3 Piece Mold - Top Mold Mark B - Medium SCA There were 11 collectable SCA CD 102 Brookfield, but only 2 of the SCA CD 102 w. Brookfield in the dump pile. However, both of these insulator embossings were represented in by massive numbers by light to dark aqua and greenish aqua colors - mostly broken or damaged. Note: Lee Brewer sent the following comment: Thanks for posting all the great pics as of recent. All of these Brookfields are great pieces! Love the dome glass in the yellow Green keg [id=606770742]! This picture of the two ponies is especially interesting from a historic aspect to me. It seems these purple ones hint at something I have been trying to figure out. I have suspected the older W. BROOKFIELD and the BROOKFIELD (without a W.) were molds used at the same time. As far as we know the lighter purple colors made in different CDs by Brookfield were made from the chemicals and sand Brookfield got from BGMCo when they took them to court. Since you found one of each from the same line, and they are the harder to find purples, it seems to support these would have been made sometime around 1897 and at the same time. |
