This was originally a high quality shiny coating that would not come off with turpentine nor scrubbing with steel wool! But alas, oxalic acid did the trick very quickly- less than 24 hours.

I left some coating on it to provide quick view of the original condition. It is duller finish after a short bath in oxalic. Beware and don't be scammed.
