I want to add to the list of insulators that were found in the state of Georgia. When I was in the Air Force (1966 to 1972), I was stationed for several years at Robins AFB, Georgia and was lucky enough to find the pictured CD 143.5 T-H. E. Co. 3-piece mold insulator. This CD 143.5 measures 11.0 cm. in overall height, 4.5 cm. from the base to wire groove, and the wire groove is 1.75 cm. wide. The insulator was half buried so there is a slight haze on one face. Overall the condition is very near mint with tons of character - straw marks, bubbles, amber streaks, cull stone, and bubbles. I'm thinking it looks like typical Brookfield aqua glass. I understand that there are at least 3 different molds used to make this insulator - two different heights and two different wire grooves. I would love for anyone who has all of the different variations to post a side-by-side comparison. I'll post a second picture detailing where and how this insulator found. |
