With the flea markets few and far between now, the hunt for hidden treasures has gotten a little sparse of late. I recently found a new junk shop that had a handful of insulators. Nothing to break the bank, but an interesting group. From left to right: CD 145 EIN [020] (Dome) 00 (F‑Skirt) BROOKFIELD SB in Blue Aqua; vvnm++ with a couple of inner skirt gobs of white snot in front. CD 104 EIN [070] (F‑Skirt) (Arc)NEW ENG.TEL & TEL./CO. (R‑Skirt) ['(Arc)NEW ENG.TEL & TEL./CO.' blotted out] SB in Light Aqua. The blotted out embossing is some of the boldest I've seen; too bad for the skirt chipping right below it. CD 202 EIN [010] (Dome) [Backwards] 2 (F‑Skirt) FRED M. LOCKE VICTOR N.Y. (R‑Skirt) No 14/PAT.MAY 22 1894 SB in Blue Aqua with bubbles and really bold embossing front and back. Open base bubble and tiny inner skirt flake do not detract. CD 104 EIN [075] (F‑Skirt) (Arc)NEW ENG.TEL & TEL./CO. {Hemingray product} SB in Light Aqua. Typical chipping/flaking/roughness around the very sharp upper wire ridge often seen on these Hemi units. CD 145 also EIN [020] (Dome) OX (F‑Skirt) BROOKFIELD SB in Dark Teal Aqua with light snow and a small star crack on the inner skirt caused by a tiny stone. This one will sparkle when it's cleaned up. Enjoy! |
