I removed this from my knee today. Not the Roosevelt dime, but the tiny tick next to it. I don't think she got into my bloodstream as she came off very easily and wasn't engorged. These are the little buggers that cause Lyme disease. You really have to be careful if you are out in the woods in this area of the country. Lyme disease is becoming all too common these days as a result of exploding tick populations. I came down with Lyme last year but fortunately caught it early and have had no long term complications. Not everybody out there is so lucky. It's a terrible disease if you don't catch it in time and can really make a person sick.
