I always say that insulator wise the amount of glass you find along overland telephone lines make railroads look like cornucopias. There's just not much left out there on the ground. I'm sure most of the insulators have been laying there for well over 40 or 50 years at this point. Most everything has been picked over by other collectors or has been buried over the decades. However, it's still good exercise and you never know what you'll come across! Here are a few pictures I've taken over the past couple of weeks in Western Pa. along a few of these overland leads. |
