Note the vintage transformers beneath with their cool "plug-in fuse-door" brown cutouts. Those boxy-looking devices attached to the 33kv are fault indicators. They are battery-operated sensors that have a small and very bright bulb in them that flashes when the line goes dead or reaches a (lower) pre-set level.
